WHO ARE WE AND ITS HISTORY?

We are the residents of Carlton Road and Glades Cutoff Road and nearby areas, made up of people from all walks of life - from ranchers, professionals, entrepreneurs, horse and boarding facility owners, grove owners, environmentalists, private and public employees, non-profit organizations, and children.

Our aim is to preserve our quality of life, to try and promote "responsible growth" and at the same time, preserve the environment from further degradation.

On this site, we feature topics and articles related to issues we tackle. Archives are also provided just in case the public has a need to re-visit the issues.

This site was first created to stop the rock mining proposal by Dickerson Florida, LLC. We won the case, and thought that was the end of our turmoil. That is not the case, as of 02/10/2005, we found out that FPL - Florida Power and Light wants to put a coal- operated plant at St. Lucie County to generate electricity instead of using natural gas.

So here we are again on a new mission, or possibly the end of our "Quality of Life".
